R. Thompson Re: Richland Acres
6
P. 0. Box 338 Subdivision
Purcellville, Virginia 22132 Section 4, Lot 32
Applicat'on 265NF77
Dear Mr. Thompson: F1 1 3 Z
The above referenced property was originally examined in October,
1966 by James Ireson, Sanitarian who denied a sewage disposal per-
mit for the lot. It was subsequently examined by E. F. Goldston,
Loudoun County Soil Scientist, in June 1967 and February 1968;
and by R. D. Cantrell, Sanitation Supervisor in March, 1968. In
all cases the soil was determined to be unsuitable for septic tank
drainfield use because of shallow depth to hard rock and the
presence of a high seasonal water table at depths of 20 -24 inches.
In view of the extensive amount of work already done on this lot,
the Health Department does not feel that we can justify the time,
expense, and manpower for an additional investigation. Therefore,
by this letter, we are denying your application, 265NF77, for a
septic tank - drainfield installation on this property.
The'only possible alternative we can forsee would be the extension
of public sewer into this section of Richland Acres. A trunk
sewer of the Dulles Interceptor System runs along Sugarland Run,
and thre does not appear to be any particular engineering problems
associated with sewering section 4. We would suggest that this
matter could be expedited if you and the other property owners
could get together and reach some agreement on financing sewer
construction.
Sincerely,
William D. Vermilye,,A.S.
Sanitarian
WDV:jm
