COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA
COUNTY OF LOUDOUN
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH
209 GIBSON STREET, N.W.
LEESBURG, VIRGINIA 22075
Earl E. Vlrb, Jr., M.O.
DMwcror
Administration )
Nursing )777d236
D*nul )
EnvlronmentalNwtn )777-0231
MEMORANDUM TO: Sara Howard -O'Brien, Chief of Land Development,
Department of Planning, Zoning, and Community Development
FROM: Douglas A. Sours, Sanitarian, Environmental Healt
SUBJECT: Loudoun Woodland Road Joint Venture, Rezoning Request,
ZMAP 86-22, Section 81B, Parcels 6C, 7, 8, 8B, 9, 11, and 13
DATE: October 31, 1986
I have reviewed the above referenced request for rezoning and herein submit
the following comments:
1. Due to the extremely limited capacity of the soils in this area to serve
as subsurface soil absorption systems for sewage , it is strongly
recommended that an agreement between the applicant(s) and the
Loudoun County Sanitation Authority be formalized prior to granting
the rezoning request.
2. Consideration should be given to requiring the applicant(s) to connect
to public water, which is currently located approximately 3000 feet
north of the properties. (Alternatively, the applicant(s) could be
required to connect to public water when the proposed water trunk main
following State Route 638 is installed.)
3. Where appropriate during the site plan stage, developers should be
required to submit detailed plans for solid waste storage, collection,
and disposal. Any industrial wastes not suitable for sewer or general
solid waste disposal must be handled and disposed of in a manner that
will not create a public health hazard. Such wastes, if any, should
also be addressed in the detailed plans for solid waste storage,
collection, and disposal.
The Health Department has no further comments at this time.
DAS/bh
