Loudoun County <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Jeff Widmeyer <br />Loudoun County Health Department ~~~~1v~D <br />FROM: Brutus Cooper, Hydrogeologist~ 61990 <br />Department of Natural Resources AvG <br />DATE : August 3 , 19 9 0 u~°`"' <br />tom' <br />RE: Hydrogeologic Investigation Report for the <br />Brown Farm Subdivision <br />Hydrogeologic investigation report for the Brown Farm subdivision <br />has been reviewed. <br />:•. <br />Based on six (6) in/yr infiltration rate, recharge estimate for the <br />202 acres subdivision is: <br />150.2 x 43560 ft2 x 6 in/yr x 7.00274 x .08333 in x 28.3 <br />1/ft3 x .264 US gal/1 = 66,965.5gpd. <br />The estimated house withdrawal rate is: <br />400 gpd/home x 29 = 11600 gpd. <br />~n~he 9 <br />Average yield for ~aigl~t (~ test wells is about 8.56 gpm (range <br />from 1.5-60 gpm). <br />Transmissivity range from .2 - 410 ftZ/d. Storage coefficients <br />range from .00017 to .0002. <br />These results suggest that there is groundwater to support the <br />Brawn Farm subdivision as proposed; however, the following <br />observations-need to be addressed: <br />Observ2~tions <br />1. Wells #19, #29r #12 and #16 were tested using constant pumping <br />rates, while the rest of the wells were tested using variable <br />.pumping rates. The consultant or applicant must give written <br />justification for variable rate pumping instead of constant <br />rate pumping as specified in the Loudoun County hydrogeologic <br />code. <br /> <br />
