Be advised that
before wells may be drilled in steep slope areas,a Locational Clearance must be obtained
through the County in accordance with Section 4-1600 of the Zoning Ordinance. The best
practice would be to avoid such areas. Information regarding the extent of steep slope areas
bay obtained through the County's on-line mapping service
http://gisinterlioudoun.gov/weblogis or by contacting the Loudoun County Office of Mapping
and Geographic Information(OMAGI).
2) Since the locations of proposed drilling sites are constrained by the site development plans,
please provide a map showing those development plans along with the proposed well
locations.
RECOMMENDED:
The Geophysical Survey component of the Hydrogeological Report Requirements for Other Developments
as outlined in FSM Chapter 6.240.0 is only required at the direction of the County. Review by Building
and Development staff is in concurrence with this Preliminary Study, and agrees that, due to the geological
setting, the constraints of site plan development, and the readily identifiable fracture-controlled surface
expressions, the addition of a geophysical study would not significantly enhance well-site selection.
You may contact me directly at(703)771-5529,or by e-mail at dcumbie@loudoun.gov if you have any
questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Dennis H.Cumbie,CPG
